How Music Can Help You Heal

“Music can heal the wounds which medicine cannot touch.”
– Debasish Mridha

Music is one of the most healing forms of therapy.

You know when you feel bored or feel like crap, and then the right song comes on, and your mood just changes... music is so powerful.

And it is incredible how it can change a room, change an environment, change how people interact with each, and change how your MOOD significantly.

At our house music plays a big role in our day-to-day life.

Not playing it, although my husband does play the guitar and compose (usually sweet and silly) songs for our girls, but listening to it.

Music helps us keep calm and carry on. It helps us focus and daydream, sleep and dance, and especially it helps us make art!

Music can:

  • calm anxiety
  • reduce stress
  • change your mood instantly
  • reduce pain
  • increase healing
  • improve focus
  • increase your creativity
  • bring you into a flow state
  • increase productivity
  • give us a voice when we feel like we cannot say it ourselves
  • help to heal injuries and improve recovery time and outcomes after surgery
  • improve cognition
  • improve memory
  • improve blood flow and reduce cholesterol levels
  • help you come with more ideas
  • improve your positivity which can last throughout the day
  • give you hope
  • change your life

Music can open up your the right side of your brain which controls creativity. This helps give your more ideas and tap into your imagination and creativity.

Do you have a project you want more ideas for or to be able to complete it in a better way?

It can help you come up with solutions and start to flow.

Every time I put on music, my paintbrush flows so much more smoothly and areas that I was stuck on just go away.

When I need to brainstorm ideas and solutions to something, music helps me come up with ideas that I never would have otherwise come up with.

Music can help in so many ways, such as:

It can:

  • improve healing
  • reduce depression
  • improve creativity
  • reduce surgery recovery times
  • improve medical outcomes
  • improve productivity
  • reduce stress and overwhelm
  • increase imagination and ideas

Think about how many good changes are happening within you when you listen to music!!

You can even journal about how these songs made you feel.

Or just press play and feel the improved benefits!  It works short-term and long-term!

“Music brings us pleasure and releases our suffering. It can calm us down and pump us up. It helps us manage pain, run faster, sleep better and be more productive.”
