Hope Takes Flight
There’s something about standing at Walnut Beach and watching the seagulls soar above the water that makes the world feel a little bigger—and life feel a little lighter.
Hope Takes Flight was inspired by that feeling.
I wanted to capture the movement of the birds against the sky, the colors reflecting across the water, and that beautiful sense of freedom you feel when you look out toward the horizon. Seagulls are such a familiar part of our Connecticut shoreline, but when you really stop and watch them fly, there is something almost magical about them.
They rise, glide, change direction with the wind, and keep going.
To me, they became a reminder of hope—the kind that lifts us when we need it, carries us through change, and reminds us that there is always more beyond what we can see right now.
I painted this piece in my signature colorful, vibrant style, bringing extra color and energy to a place that feels so familiar to me. Walnut Beach is part of the beauty of Milford, and I love capturing pieces of our local community through my art.

Hope can be quiet. Sometimes it is simply believing there is more ahead, even when you can't quite see it yet. Like a bird catching the wind, sometimes we just need enough courage to lift our wings and see where they take us.
Hope Takes Flight is my colorful celebration of Walnut Beach, our beautiful Milford shoreline, and the feeling of looking toward an open horizon and believing in possibility.
