There’s something incredible about watching a polar bear simply being a polar bear—swimming through the water, completely at home in its world.
With this painting, I didn’t want to focus on the harshness of the Arctic. I wanted to capture the beauty of this moment—the movement of the bear through the water, the colorful reflections surrounding her, and that amazing combination of strength and peacefulness.
As I painted her, I kept thinking about how extraordinary these animals really are. So powerful, yet there’s something so gentle and calm about watching them move through the water.
Nature has a way of reminding us to stop and really look. To notice the colors, the movement, the animals we share this world with—and how much beauty is around us when we take the time to see it.
I hope this painting brings a little of that feeling into your home: wonder, peace, and appreciation for the incredible wildlife that makes our world so special—and a reminder of how worth protecting it all is.
